- Profitability Improvement: Management Practices
An open-pit iron ore mine faced challenges meeting tonnage targets due to limited availability of critical equipment. The operation required a rapid baseline of performance and governance framework to support near-term stabilization and longer-term improvement efforts.
Our team conducted a readiness assessment to address equipment availability constraints, developing KPIs, visibility tools, and governance structures to establish performance transparency. We also implemented targeted quick-win initiatives, including workstation 5S and improved material replenishment, to stabilize operations and enable sustained improvement.
